Are any Cyber Security events running in 2020?

With all the Covid-19 related lock-downs, closures of businesses, restrictions on travel, cancellation of sports and pretty much all events… are the any Cyber Security in-person activities going ahead this year?

We take a look at what the status is of some of the main planned events, in date order, that were due to take place in 2020:

SANSFIRE 2020

Converted to a live online event June 13-20, 2020. General attendee registration at reduced rates is now open.

Changed to a virtual event from June 15-19, 2020. General attendee registration at reduced rates is now open.

The changing scene of cyber is now a virtual event on June 18, 2020. Cost is Free!

Originally scheduled for June 20-21, 2020, but have now been postponed to August 28-29, 2021.

This year’s event will be a virtual experience on July 27-21, 2020.

This will be entirely virtual this year, held over the same dates, August 1-6, 2020.

Scheduled to be held on September 1-3, 2020.

The 19th Annual AusCERT Cyber Security Conference is now being held virtually from September 15-18, 2020.

Acronis Global Cyber Summit 2020

Scheduled for October 19-21, 2020.

Security Awareness Summit & Training 2020

The 7th annual SANS Security Awareness Summit is from December 1-4, 2020.

The general approach seems to be that where possible most events have been converted to online virtual experiences and in many cases Free-of-Charge!

Those events planned for later in the year but may well change as the current pandemic plays out so be sure to check the organizer’s sites.
